I’m a little too lazy at the moment to go into detail about the project itself but I got the opportunity to create single cover artwork for the great dope female mc Stahhr out of the ATL. Amalgam Nation EP album has been mysteriously brewing for the last 2 years and I’m so happy to know that its finally ready to be served. Amalgam Nation is a melting pot of many things, people, cultures, ideas, and emotions. New Illustrations for Jessie Davis’s album

Atlanta based musician Jessie Davis approached me a couple months back about doing art work that represented a song on her new album Him and I Gemini. Jessie expressed to me that she wanted to have a piece of art that represented each song that she would release online and I thought this was a pretty cool concept so I was down to do the work. Originally it was suppose to be 4 artists doing 4 different pieces of work for the 4 songs but the way everything worked out I ended up becoming the leading artist for the project which was really exciting. Here are 4 illustrations that go along with the 4 releasead singles from Jessie Davis’s second album “Him and I Gemini”.

I Feel

I haven’t blog in awhile so I guess its time to update this thing at least with some new music and art. Next month I will be releasing an Ep called Amalgam Nation on Oct. 27th and this project is my way of celebrating my progression as a visual artist and lyricist and a person.I’m really excited about sharing this because a lot of work went into the production and the lyrics. Most of the album is produced by my extremely skilled producer friend from Australia by the name of Timeshare and we created the music through emailing back and fourth. About two weeks ago I put out a single from this project called “I Feel” and it’s getting alot of positive feedback, I even took it the local college radio station and premiered it. I’m happy to be able to share this with the internets hopefully many more folks will discover the track and play the hell out of it. Here’s the visual art (illustrated by me) and the music

Lately I haven’t been on top of my game for the past couple of months.I guess I’ve been stuck in a rut but yesterday I finally decided to get out and hit up the Wynwood Design District and check out some galleries. I think I’m finally ready to put some of my new paintings out there. Here are some pics of street art I came across on my journey through the scotching heat.

I started working on this Bilal Robot’s remix earlier this year for a contest and then I decided to not enter it because I just wanted to do it for fun without the extra pressure. Working on this track really allowed me to brush up on my mixing skills and production skills. Mati Klarwein: The visionary/psychedelic painter that wasn’t inspired by psychedelics

I discovered Mati Klarwein’s work 3 years ago while I was surfin’ the interwebs lookin for visual inspiration.I felt like I struck gold when i discovered his beautiful paintings. I decided to finally make a post about him because I’ve been noticing a lot of people posting his images on tumblrs and fbook but i don’t think they have a clue as to who the artist is.

Mati Klarwein is that visionary painter dude period. Klarwein was born April 9, 1932 in Germany and died March 7. 2002 in spain. He spent most of his life painting and traveling the world. He’s the guy who gave us some of the most amazing album covers; Santana’s “Abraxas” (released Sept. 1970) album , Miles Davis Bitches Brew (April 1970) and many more. In an interview on his site this is what he had to say about psychedelics.

Although considered a psychedelic artist by some, when asked in an interview “How do you feel about being classified as a psychedelic painter?” his response was:

I think it’s subjective. Anybody can classify me as they wish. In the fifties I was classified as an illustrator, even though my work consisted of paintings. And in the sixties my work was classified as psychedelic. So I took psychedelics to find out what it was all about. I found out I couldn’t paint on them. I’ll tell you about a funny episode. Jean Houston and Robert Masters put together a book called Psychedelic Art in the sixties, and they came to me. They did an interview with me, like we’re doing now, to include me in their book. And they asked me, “What kind of psychedelics do you take when you’re painting?” And I said, “I don’t take anything when I’m painting. When I take psychedelics I get very horny, and I start going out to nightclubs and cruising.” (laughter)
